Aqwa Code and Its Capabilities to Solve Offshore Operation Requirements

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to review Aqwa code capabilities to support Offshore Contractors in the definitions of the limiting environmental conditions for offshore operations such as drilling, pipelaying, platform installations, taking into account the different loads acting on the vessel (wave loads, wind loads, surface current loads, pipeline loads, platform weights...).
In this paper the main technical, numerical and experimental aspects associated to this assessment are firstly addressed by Paolo Monti, from Saipem group. Then, Prof. Camarri from University of Pisa and ing. Daniele Calsolaro from EnginSoft present the Aqwa capabilities, from theoretical and user point of view.
