Evaluation of the Lifetime of an Automotive Vacuum Pump Housing

Abstract

The target of the work is the evaluation of the lifetime of a generic vacuum pump housing.
The calculation has been performed to reproduce, by means of FEM approaches, the results of some experimental breakages of the component. Some structural simulations have been executed to reproduce the single load cycle, and, a specific numerical tool has been used to predict the lifetime of the housing.
